Now you might be wondering, especially if you're unfamiliar with Twitch culture, what even is all of this? Well, let me explain.
Twitch.tv is basically a website where you can broadcast your own gameplay or anything really, all you need is recording software/camera.
The people broadcasting are called "streamers" and are basically the core content of the site, so twitch.tv is just a platform that content
creators from anywhere can use. You might've heard of Ninja for example, and he is someone who also streams on Twitch.tv
Xqc happens to be one of the biggest broadcasters aka "streamers" on this website. He frequently pulls over 20 000 concurrent viewers
whenever he streams, and is one of the most well known. Since his audience is big, so is the community, and what it basically creates
is a hotspot for memes. Memes spread through twitch chat, which is basically an online chatroom where people can talk. Anyone with
an account on Twitch.tv can send messages to these chatrooms.
Note that you do need a twitch account to send messages, and this chat window is mainly designed for viewing only. Go to twitch.tv/xqcow for the whole stream.
Something to note is that the chat will be much more active while the streamer is live, although you can still see activity in there even if nothing is happening.
Lastly, you might see people type seemingly unmeaningful words/phrases, such as "Pepega" "OMEGALUL" or "PepeHands". Know that these are actually emotes,
but are not visible to the naked eye. You must train your twitch.tv senses to a level where you can see them.
(All jokes aside, you need browser extensions to see
the emotes. BetterTwitchTv and FrankerFazeZ are the two main ones that will let you see what the other viewers do.)
